Enough roots…here’s a new conceptual sketch of the troll encounter I’m designing for the next Encounter. Check back for a playable demo!

I can see the pixels.
It might be cool to have “2.5 d” (as the designers call it) like what the bushes look like… by that I mean a 2d image placed into a 3d scene with perspective, to give the look of a cardboard cut out.
…you probably knew what I meant without needing the explanation.
Also, I’d rather be in prison. Prison is great because they get outside time; we don’t get outside time.
Actually, the explanation helped. But the concept I knew of… when I drew the bushes that idea actually came to mind, explicitly making the bushes look sorta billboardish. I did this sketch mostly for placement ideas for the scene. I’m probably going to render the trees and bushes out in Blender. For aesthetic reasons, I want the game to have a “geometric” feel, sharp edges, blocky circles, etc. So we’ll see how it turns out.
